2024.12.05On the evening of December 4, 2024, Professor Zhu Pei, Dean of the Architecture School of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and a renowned architect, was invited to deliver a lecture titled "Architecture of Nature: An Experimental Approach for Architectural Practice." In the Architectural Association School of Architecture (AA) in London.
The lecture focused on Prof. Zhu’s recent works to present his architectural philosophy: Architecture of Nature to reveal the simplicity and authenticity of architecture's originality. He also generated some images of ‘material’ propositions from the projects to explain how his philosophy get translated across different tectonic terrains.
The Director of AA Dr. Ingrid Schroder hosted the lecture, who introduced Zhu Pei’s architectural practice and background to the audience. The legendary architectural historian and theorist Kenneth Frampton, who was at 94 years old, attended the lecture in person, and gave high praise for it.
rofessor Zhu Pei’s presentation sparked strong interest among the audience. AA students invited Professor Zhu for a small seminar on the third day after the lecture. New perspectives on the architecture under globalization and new technological conditions were inspired.
