September 19, 2020-September 19, 2021, curated by Wang Mingxian, chief expert of the Natural Architecture Studio of Central Academy of Fine Arts Visual Arts Innovation Institute, "Spatial Narrative-Photography Show of Contemporary Architecture Exhibitions at Home and Abroad" exhibited in United Art Museum, Wuhan. This exhibition focuses on contemporary architectural collections that have attracted much attention at home and abroad for more than ten years. The academic combing of these architectural exhibitions demonstrates the innovation of modern architecture globally at different times. At the same time, it is also trying to explore the thought-provoking originality of contemporary Chinese architecture. Two exhibitions of Studio Zhu-Pei: "Yi Garden, China pavilion at the 12th Venice Biennale" and "Mind Landscapes: 2017 Studio Zhu-Pei Exhibition in Aedes" were included.

Based on this exhibition, the Architectural Forum "What is the fundamental purpose of architecture? What do architectural exhibitions bring?" held in Wuhan on June 19, 2021, which co-organized by Wuhan Optics Valley United Group Ltd., Wuhan Culture Creative Industry Association, United Art Museum, CEC Optics Valley Architectural Design Institute Co., Ltd., and OVU Propaganda Department. Hosted by Wang Mingxian, the forum was divided into two topics: "New Architectural Thoughts Affected by the Great Changes in the World" and "Architectural Exhibition and Spatial Narrative Turning." It discussed the social significance of architecture and architectural exhibitions in the current development stage and the background of the times.

Zhu Pei was invited to participate in this forum and gave a keynote speech, "Statement of Thought? Experiment of Concept?". He said that architecture is a unique art form. “Architecture of Nature” tries to establish a connection between architecture, regional context, and regional climate to find the source of regional culture. Therefore, the root and creation are the two most important clues for “Architecture of Nature”. One is that architectural art needs to be linked to a specific geographic climate and culture; the other is the attribute and creativity of architectural art. “Architecture of Nature” is not landscape architecture. What matters is the attitude towards nature. The city is like a profound experiment of “Architecture of Nature”, reflecting the architect's thoughts, exploring the regional context and climate in creativity and roots, thus creating a brand-new architectural experiment.

In the second half of the forum, the host and nine guests of the seminar conducted round-table discussions for the forum topics. The guests were Huang Liping, Director of United Art Museum; Li Baofeng, President of New Architecture Magazine; Lu Hong, Executive Director of United Art Museum; Meng Jianmin, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering; Sun Zhenhua, Vice President of Chinese Sculpture Society; Wang Yuan, Ph.D. supervisor of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Huazhong University of Science and Technology; Ye Cheng, founder of Wild City Factory; Zhu Pei, Dean of the School of Architecture of Central Academy of Fine Arts; Zhu Xiaodi, the presiding architect of ZXD Architects (listed in Chinese alphabetical order).
Zhu Pei said that the contemporary experimental building in the architectural industry is an essential event in the rise of Chinese architecture, and it is important to re-discuss the experimental architecture and the building itself. As the main architectural art venue in Wuhan, the United Art Museum should have a new architectural experiment to re-call the new experimental architecture itself.
